Plug the Information Gap in Your Excel Reports and Analyses

Microsoft Excel MVP by Charley Kyd
Microsoft Excel MVP

Most Excel reports ignore the biggest problem that every organization is having right now...the economy! KydWeb plugs that gap.

See how...

Upgrade your Dashboard Reports--Here's how to keep your managers up-to-date on the performance of customers and competitors, trends in key costs, the economic health of key markets, and other information that affects your company's bottom line. (2:41)

Note: This chart is a variation of IncSight DB, Report 5.

Improve Budgets and Cost Control--Whether your managers are budgeting for the future or trying to stay within their current budget, they need to watch how key costs are trending. By doing so, they'll be much better prepared to manage their costs. (2:53)

Note: This chart is a variation of Charley's Swipe Files #24.

Get Free Financial Benchmarking--When you look at the financial ratios of your own company, or a major customer, you should know what the average values are for its industry. Here's how to create an industry financial statement by month so you can easily calculate industry ratios, chart the trends, or perform other industry analyses. (4:17)

Download the workbook: You can download the benchmark workbook here.

Track Foreign Exchange Rates--If your company does international business, or if it relies on products made in other countries, you really ought to keep an eye on foreign exchange rates.

The Federal Reserve Board has years of daily, monthly, and annual history of US-dollar foreign exchange rates. So if you need an exchange rate on a particular date in the past, the FRB probably has it. And that means your Excel formulas can return it easily.

These charts build on that ability. (2:56)
