This figure uses dynamic chart legends. I had a lot of
fun setting it up; I hope you like it!
As you can see in these two examples, the
legend automatically adjusts to the current value in the chart.
In the left version, for example, the
best-selling product line is Slacks; but in the right version, it’s
Shirts.
Because the sample data uses random numbers, the legend bar changes
each time the workbook recalculates.
I used conditional formatting to create the
dynamic legend. That’s a problem if you still use Excel 2003,
however, because that version supports only three conditional
formats per cell.
